Washington D.C. β October 23,2026: National Trust Energy Capital is proud to announce its latest investment with US Solar to support a portfolio of five community solar projects located across New Mexico. National Trust Energy Capital made an equity investment in the five projects, which total approximately 22.2 MWdc and are expected to generate nearly 51.6 million kWh annually, enough renewable electricity to power more than 6,500 homes each year.
βWe are excited to continue our partnership with US Solar with a portfolio that reflects our commitment to projects that benefit communities. In addition to expanding access to clean energy for New Mexico households, these projects guarantee substantial savings for low- and moderate-income customers, invest in communities affected by the loss of fossil fuel jobs, and support sustainable job creation through partnerships with local companies.β
Located across Hidalgo, Luna, DoΓ±a Ana, and Valencia Counties, the five ground-mounted community solar installations will provide renewable energy benefits to a diverse subscriber base of commercial, institutional, and residential customers. More than half of the projects’ energy output will be directed toward low- and moderate-income households. These households are expected to receive an average 28% discount on their community solar bill credits, helping make clean energy more affordable while generating meaningful long-term savings. Commercial and institutional subscribers, including municipalities, schools, and community organizations, are expected to receive significant savings.Β
βOur continued partnership with NT Energy Capital enables us to advance solar energy deployment across New Mexico. Together with our financing and local partners, weβre building energy infrastructure that creates long-term economic opportunities and delivers the benefits of locally produced energy to the communities we serve.β
The projects exceed New Mexico’s requirement that at least 40% of residential subscriptions benefit low-income households, with more than half of the projects’ financial benefits expected to be delivered to qualifying low-income communities. The projects also support local workforce development through US Solar’s partnership with Sol Luna Solar, a New Mexico-based contractor overseeing construction activities. The portfolio is expected to generate lasting economic benefits throughout the region while building clean energy infrastructure that will serve communities for decades.
By investing in a project that expands renewable energy access, delivers substantial energy cost savings for low-income households, and revitalizes land in historically underserved communities, National Trust Energy Capital continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting impactful clean energy development across the country.
