Formerly known as NT Solar, our organization has spent years helping investors and developers navigate renewable energy tax credit investments. Today, our new name more accurately reflects who we are and where we’re headed: a team of experienced professionals focused on connecting capital with energy opportunities through deep industry knowledge, disciplined underwriting, and strong market relationships. The foundation hasn’t changed. What has changed is our ability to tell a broader story about the work we do and the expertise we bring to the energy investment market.
As National Trust Energy Capital begins this next chapter, we’d like to introduce the leadership team helping guide our growth.
Managing Director, National Trust Energy Capital
Paul Holshouser leads National Trust Energy Capital’s efforts to originate, structure, underwrite, and close renewable energy tax credit investments. He serves as the primary relationship manager for investors, developers, and project partners while overseeing the team’s investment activities and growth strategy.
Paul joined the organization in 2024 and was appointed to lead the business following a leadership transition at the end of 2025. Before joining the National Trust family of companies, he served as Senior Director of Project Finance at Distributed Sun, where he led development capital raises, project sales processes, and market expansion initiatives.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning renewable energy development, banking, project finance, and energy tax policy, Paul brings a practical understanding of how projects move from concept to completion. His expertise helps investors evaluate opportunities and gives developers access to capital structures designed to meet the realities of today’s energy market.

As President and CEO of NTCIC, David Clower provides strategic oversight for all of the National Trust family of companies, including National Trust Energy Capital. He directs fundraising efforts, develops new lines of business, and guides the long-term vision of the organization.
David joined NTCIC in 2024 with three decades of experience spanning commercial banking, investment banking, community development finance, private equity, venture debt, and impact investing. This broad financial background helps shape National Trust Energy Capital’s approach to building investment solutions that serve both investors and project sponsors.
Under David’s leadership, the National Trust family of companies has continued expanding its investment platform while exploring new opportunities across preservation, community development, and energy finance.
The transition from NT Solar to National Trust Energy Capital represents an evolution in how we describe our work, not a departure from it. We remain focused on the same core mission: helping connect investors, developers, and energy opportunities through specialized tax credit investment expertise.

Together, they are helping position National Trust Energy Capital for continued growth while maintaining the relationships, discipline, and market knowledge that have defined our success.
